Clark Lake Uranium Project

Clark Lake Uranium Project

Uranium Exploration in the Northwest Athabasca Basin

The Clark Lake Uranium Project is a uranium exploration property located approximately 8 km north of Uranium City, in the northwest Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan, Canada. The project covers approximately 3,167 hectares across 7 contiguous mineral claims.

Project Highlights

  • Approximately 3,167 hectares across 7 contiguous mineral claims
  • Located in the northwest Athabasca Basin, 8 km north of Uranium City
  • Six historical uranium showings documented on the property
  • Historical drilling and trenching by prior operators
  • Untested electromagnetic and magnetic anomalies identified by a 2005 VTEM survey
  • Historic programs, including trenching, drilling, and radiometric surveys, indicate a mineralized system across multiple zones of the property, with coincident gold anomalies

Geological Setting

Clark Lake is underlain by granitic to granodioritic orthogneiss, interlayered amphibolite–quartzite, and quartzite units, with regional faults crossing the claims.

Strong, brittle quartzite and orthogneiss tend to fracture along faults and contacts, while amphibolite layers add reducing conditions that can trigger uranium precipitation where fluids slow or mix at shears, fractures and lithologic boundaries. Regional faults cross-cutting the claims form structural corridors for uranium-bearing fluid migration.

Historical Exploration

Historical exploration at Clark Lake has identified six uranium showings across the property, documented by prior operators.

At Goldfields 50-TT-75 (Goldfields Uranium Mines Ltd), 13 historical trench samples averaged 0.266% U₃O₈ over 1.2 m, with a best assay of 0.49% U₃O₈ over 0.9 m along with 0.14 oz/t Au and 0.10 oz/t Ag; a drill hole here also returned 0.202% U₃O₈ over 2.2 m.

At the DD-20/COMP Zone (New Hosco Mines Ltd. & Rix Athabasca Uranium Mines Ltd), 14 historical drill holes were completed, with a best result of 0.11% U₃O₈ over 0.7 m; hole no. 2 returned 0.21% U₃O₈ over 12.2 m along a strike length of 152.4 m.

At Goldfields Zone 100 (Goldfields Uranium Mines Ltd), historical trenching returned 0.16% U₃O₈ over 1.8 m, with scintillometer readings up to 15,000 cps, and a 2013 grab sample returned 2.06 g/t Au.

At the DD-20/Tobe Zone (Fosagao Explorations Ltd), historical drill hole no. 3 returned 0.11% U₃O₈ over 0.7 m, hole 5-52 returned 2.26% U₃O₈ over 0.09 m, and scintillometer readings exceeded 15,000 cps.

At Goldfields 50-NN-72 (Goldfields Uranium Mines Ltd), the showing is hosted in the same sequence as the Verna & Bolger deposits, with a historical result of 0.29% U₃O₈ over 1.0 ft (DD 72-1), and radioactivity along contact up to 12,000 cps.

At Skeena Showing No. 3 (Skeena Silver Mines Ltd), a historical grab sample from a narrow fracture zone returned 0.07% U₃O₈.

In 2005, an airborne VTEM survey outlined coincident electromagnetic and magnetic anomalies across the Clark Lake claims. These anomalies have not been tested by drilling.

Historic data has not been verified by a qualified person.

Planned Work

Future work at Clark Lake is expected to integrate historic drilling, trenching, radiometric and VTEM data into a unified 3D target model, followed by prospecting, trenching and radon/radiometric surveys to confirm and prioritize drill-ready targets.
